Peterson, DeBoer standout at Track-O-Rama in Rapid

Body RAPID CITY – With more than two dozen track and field teams from South Dakota, Wyoming and North Dakota, the Hot Springs Bison faced a lot of tough competition last Friday, April 12 at the Track-ORama in Rapid City.

Total of 11 PRs set by Bison tracksters at Spearfish meet

Body SPEARFISH – Versus more than 30 teams from a threestate region, the Hot Springs Bison boys and girls track & field teams competed in the Queen City Classic last Friday, April 4, on the campus of Black Hills State University.

Baseball team earns 7-5 win over Douglas at Butler Park

Body HOT SPRINGS – The Hot Springs Bison baseball team picked up its first win of the season last Friday, April 5, at home versus the Douglas Patriots when they earned a 6 1/2 inning victory by a score of 7-5, thanks to a big five-run third inning for the hometown boys.
After missing most of last season due to injury, Hot Springs senior speedster Braden Peterson breaks the finish line of the 100-meters to win the event in his first meet of the 2024 season. Bison thinclads compete in first meet of the season

Body STURGIS – The Hot Springs Bison track and field teams saw their first action of the season last week when they traveled to Sturgis for a 13-team Early Bird meet at Woodle Field.

Body OELRICHS - The Fifth Annual Lakota All Star Games were held in Rapid City at the Monument on Saturday, March 30. Three boys basketball teams and two girls basketball teams competed in the high school games, followed by women’s and men’s college basketball games.

Baseball season gets underway versus Belle

Body HOT SPRINGS – After just eight official practices, the Hot Springs Bison baseball team got its 2024 season underway last Friday, March 29, with a home doubleheader versus Belle Fourche, which included JV followed by varsity game in which the home team lost 4-22.

Bison boys fall one win short of second straight state tourney

Body KADOKA – Last Tuesday night’s Class “A” SoDak 16 matchup in Kadoka featuring sixth-ranked Hot Springs and 11th-ranked Vermillion started pretty much how the Bison had hoped, as they took an early 10-1 lead midway through the first quarter.

Body HOT SPRINGS – Regardless of the sport, the Southern Hills Showdowns between Hot Springs and Custer always makes for a competitively, fun-filled environment. In the playoffs, things get stepped up even more, especially if a trip to the SoDak 16 is on the line.
