New Edgemont reporter begins at newspaper

Body EDGEMONT -- The Fall River County Herald-Star recently added a reporter to its staff who is based in Edgemont. Lance Borde comes to Edgemont from Concord, Calif., and says he is eager to report on the news and happenings in his new community.

Expanded free preschool proving to be successful at Hot Springs School District

Body HOT SPRINGS – Thanks inpart to a total $26,000 raised from community donations, the Hot Springs School District was able to double its preschool enrollment of 3 to 5 year olds, from 18 students to 36 by adding a second classroom for the 202526 school year.

Body A new class-action lawsuit, if successful, could require the California owner of former military munitions bunkers near Edgemont to pay more than $17 million to people who rent the so-called igloos for use as homes or shelters to protect them in the case of a global catastrophe.
Throughout the event, approximately 350 people attended in Centennial Park, bringing their lawn chairs, blankets and respect. People also gathered at the American Legion hall for fellowship and food.
