Body HOT SPRINGS – While one might think the days of women joining together around a floor quilt frame quilting a new quilt for a loved one, newlyweds, or a good friend are of a bygone era the fact is quilting is alive and well in Hot Springs.

Body LOGAN, Utah -- In a celebration of educational excellence and innovative teaching, Utah State University’s College of Engineering has awarded Cassandra McCall the esteemed Teacher of the Year Award.

Black Bear honored at Oelrichs Powwow

Body OELRICHS - Saturday, February 24, was a busy day for youth from all over Western South Dakota. They came from near and far to the Oelrichs school to participate in HandGames,followedbyaPowwow. Dr. Mitch Stone, Superintendent/ CEO, said he estimated around 300 in attendance.
Hot Springs High School senior Kyle Sanders was recently presented the Jacob Scott Memorial Award for his volunteer service to South Dakota Youth Hunting Adventures. Here, Kyle holds a Canadian goose he harvested in Fall River County as part of a recent youth hunt with the organization. This particular goose is a rare speciman known as a “Quill Lake” goose and recognizable by the unusual white feathers on its belly. Submitted photo
