Total of 11 state medals earned by local youth

Body RAPID CITY – Eleven medals were earned by Hot Springs Bison wrestlers this past weekend at the South Dakota Wrestling Coaches Association State Tournament this past weekend in Rapid City.

Wind Cave tours to suspend May 1 for elevator replacement

Body HOT SPRINGS – Wind Cave National Park officials recently announced that cave tours will be suspended beginning May 1 while the park’s elevator system is replaced and modernized.

City hires FRC Deputy as new police officer

Body HOT SPRINGS – Last Monday night’s Hot Springs City Council meeting on March 4 included two separate Executive Sessions with the first for Personnel taking place early in the meeting prior to Personnel Actions and the second for Legal taking place at the end of the meeting.
Here’s a picture from 2024…oh wait it’s from 1994 Construction crews in downtown Hot Springs were nearing the final turn in the curb, gutter, and sidewalk replacement project that had been ongoing for quite some time. Work was scheduled to progress in front of the post office and then begin down Jennings Avenue that week.

County Commission says farewell to retiring Highway Superintendent Seiler

Body HOT SPRINGS – The Fall River County Commissioners presented a plaque to retiring Highway Superintendent Randy Seiler when they met on Thursday, March 7. Commissioner Joe Falkenburg thanked him for his 24 years of service to the county.
The event’s keynote speaker coming to Hot Springs on May 22-23 is Michael Perry.
