Closure of Edgemont BNSF rail yard is likely

Body HOT SPRINGS — Although official confirmation from BNSF (Burlington Northern Santa Fe) Railway is couched in publicrelations vagueness, it appears that the railroad is planning to close its Edgemont yard.
At its lowest end, the river channel retaining wall in front of the Springs Lodge and Cafe is just 18-inches tall, as shown here. On the opposite side of the river, there is a higher railing (shown in the top of the photo) located behind the Depot Visitor’s Center. Body HOT SPRINGS – The need for the rebirth of ‘Save the VA’ is because the “battle is not over,” according to Don Ackerman, who served as the host of a public meeting held last Friday, March 14, in the Mueller Civic Center.
