Ronald Eston Beseke, 75, of Oelrichs, S.D., passed away April 7, 2025. Ron was born in Jackson, Minn., to Arlo and Florence (Temlitz) Beseke on January 6, 1950. In February, following Ron’s birth, the family moved to a farm near Oelrichs, S.D.
Ron grew up on the farm and attended all twelve years of schooling at the Oelrichs Public School. Following high school graduation, he helped on the family farm, drove big rigs, and hired out. Later, Ron started a septic cleaning service which he maintained for a number of years. Then Ron started a backhoe and trenching service which he operated until he had health issues.
Ron loved hunting and fishing; especially fishing! He had his secret fishing spots which he would not share with many. Also, Ron always had his evening drinks at the local bar with his friends which was one of his happy places.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Arlo and Florence, and a younger brother, Wayne.
Ron is survived by brothers, Roger Beseke, El Cajon Cali., and Curtis Beseke, Chadron Neb.; sister, Cheryl Hunt, Bellevue Wash., as well as an aunt and uncle, and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and great nieces and nephews.
The viewing and funeral service will be held at Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs, on Thursday, April 17, 2025 with the viewing starting at 1 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m. Grave site services will be held after the service. Everyone is invited to the Oelrichs Community Center for refreshments after the service.
A memorial in Ron’s name may be made to: Oelrichs Volunteer Fire Department Building Fund or Oelrichs Hillside Cemetery Fund.
