Myrna Halls, 89, passed away on May 13, 2026, at Seven Sisters Living Center. Prior to that, Myrna had been living at Pine Hills Assisted Living.
Myrna was born to Everett and Mabel Gillis in Hot Springs. She married Blaine Halls in Colorado Springs in 1952. Together they had seven children. They lived at the family farm on the Cheyenne River until 1964 when they moved to town. In addition to being a stay at home mother, Myrna was active in various community organizations including the Miss South Dakota Pageant and the Hospital Auxiliary. Myrna was a music lover, an avid reader, and any kind of puzzles kept her busy.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Blaine; infant daughter, Patricia; daughter, Teresa; son. Steve; and a granddaughter, Lisa Halls Rice. She is survived by her three sisters, Daryle Wilmot of Iowa, Donna Jenniges and Mavis Olstad of Hot Springs; and her children, Beverly Schooley, Robert Halls (Terri), and Tom Halls of Hot Springs, and Sandra Larson (Rodney) of Rapid City, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Per Myrna’s request there will be a private service only, at a later date.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs, S.D.
