Larry passed away peacefully from AML Leukemia. He was born in Minnesota to Genevieve and Leonard McKee. He lost his parents and brother in a tragic car accident when he was 14. He was then raised by relatives in Wisconsin. He graduated high school and then went to trade school to learn carpet installation. He installed carpet and had his own carpet store in Colorado for many years.
Larry was survived by his wife, Deborah. They were united in marriage May 4, 1985. Larry is also survived by his daughter, Kelly, from a previous marriage, and his sister, Kathy. Larry resided in Colorado for much of his life and spent the last 15 years in Hot Springs, South Dakota.
Larry always had a competitive spirit and loved league bowling and golfing. He won many awards over the years. He loved outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, RVing, and trail riding in his ATV. Larry was fortunate to go on many wonderful vacations.
His nephews in Colorado were very special to Larry and he will always be remembered as “Uncle Gramps”.
He lived his life with a strong Christian belief knowing that one day he would meet Jesus.
Larry will be missed and always be in our hearts. Arrangements have been placed in the care of Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City, S.D.
