Bryan David Hansen

Body

October 2, 1959 - January 10, 2026

Bryan David Hansen, 66, of Bremerton, Washington, passed away from a year long battle with cancer on January 10, 2026, with his beloved wife, Kimberly H Hansen, by his side.

Bryan was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to Dale and Judy Hansen on October 2, 1959. He graduated from Hot Springs High School in South Dakota in 1978. In 1979, Bryan proudly joined the United States Navy, beginning a career of dedicated service that would span two decades. He began as a Hospital Corpsman turned Preventive Medicine Technician and served in the Persian Gulf War. After retirement, he continued in civil service work as an Industrial Hygiene Technician.

In 1982, Bryan married his high school sweetheart, Kimberly (Kim) H. Graf in Hot Springs. Together, they chased sunshine and adventure around the world, building a life filled with love, resilience, and shared experiences. Their journey took them to Oceanside, California; Puerto Rico; San Leandro, California; San Diego, California; Guam, and ultimately Bremerton, Washington, where they settled and where Bryan retired from the Navy in 1999.

While living in San Diego, Bryan and Kimberly welcomed their two cherished children: Brandon, born in 1988 and Bethany, born in 1991. Bryan was a devoted and involved father—coaching Brandon’s North Perry peewee football and baseball teams (and continued years after) volunteer coaching at Bremerton High School during Brandon’s playing years, and proudly volunteering in Bethany’s elementary classroom, always present and supportive in his children’s lives.

Bryan took on many roles in his life—son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, coach and friend. He wore each one with pride. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He had a love for gardening, especially creating joyful pumpkin patches that reflected his generous spirit. Though he sometimes came across as a “grizzly bear,” those who knew him well knew his true nature: a teddy bear with a big heart.

Bryan was preceded in death by his father, Dale Hansen; his brother, Brent Hansen; brother-in-law, Emil Tutsch and many more beloved family members.

Bryan is survived by his mother, Judy Hansen; brother, Brad Hansen; and sister, Brenda Green; his wife, Kimberly; his son, Brandon Hansen (Kierra Long); his daughter, Bethany McGee (Ryan); and his three treasured grandchildren, Calloway Ryan McGee, Daytona Cole McGee and Hollister Bryan McGee. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-inlaw, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews, all of whom he loved deeply.

Bryan will be greatly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

In honor of Bryan’s involvement in youth sports and his battle with cancer, consider memorial donations to your local youth sports associations or the American Cancer Society. Also in Bryan’s memory the family encourages those who can, to consider donating blood or supporting blood donation programs.

At Bryan’s request, no formal services will be held. The family looks forward to a time when his life can be celebrated together, stories shared and everyone has “a cold one” in loving remembrance of him.
