SMITHWICK – On July 3, 2026, soon-to-be 90-yearold Sue Olofson said goodbye to her beloved Post Office in Smithwick after serving the community since 1992.
“I remember they (USPS) wanted to close the Smithwick Post Office in 1991 when the last postmistress retired, but the ranchers wouldn’t have it,” she said. “They didn’t want cluster boxes for their mail.”
