Kristina “Kris” Louise Neuman, 59, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City Mich., following a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on September 11, 1965, in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of Philip and Sharon (Halls) Arseneault.

Being born into an Air Force family, many moves occurred throughout her childhood until her father retired in 1976. The family settled in Hot Springs, S.D. where Kris would graduate high school. It was in the late 90’s she met her future husband, Joe Neuman in an online chat room. After talking and emailing several years before meeting in person, they married August 6, 2005. It was then she moved to Bellaire, Mich. with Joe and started her new life.

Kris worked for various businesses and most recently United Shield in Traverse City Mich., sewing bulletproof vest carriers together, for which she took great pride in.

Kris had many hobbies…rock picking, sewing, crafting, critter watching, hosting friends for dinner…just to name a few. Kris was also involved with the Bellaire District Fire Department and was head of the Ladies Auxiliary.

Kris is survived by her husband, Joe Neuman of Bellaire; brother, Charles (Sandy) of Pierre, S.D.; two sisters, Neva (Alan) of Gillette, Wyo., and Norma, of Hot Springs; stepdaughter, Stacy Herman of Hot Springs; four nieces and nephews, seven great nieces and nephews and her fur babies, Ellie Mae, Kallie and Tibby She was preceded in death by her parents, Phil and Sharon; paternal and maternal grandparents; step son, Stevie Gossel; and nephew, Elija Thomas Arseneault.

A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, July 6, 2025 at the Highland Cemetery, 12 miles S on Cascade Road.
