EDGEMONT – The Edgemont Lady Moguls basketball team split a pair of games last week to remain .500 on the season (9-9), following a 54-24 win at home versus Hulett, Wyo., on Tuesday, Feb. 6, but then a tough 57-58 road loss at in-county rival Oelrichs on Friday, Feb. 9.

“We came out fast against Hulett and kept it rolling all the way through the game,” said Edgemont head coach Lathen Stevens. “Against Oelrichs, we got into foul trouble and just couldn’t finish our layups or make some key free throws.”

In the Hulett victory, four players hit doubledigit scoring for the Lady Moguls, led by juniors Hadley Hollenbeck with 15 points and 10 rebounds, Katelyn Lauritsen with 12 points and four steals and Tavian Urban with 11 points and four assists. Sophomore Raelee Provorse added 10 points along with a teamhigh five assists and four steals.

Versus Oelrichs, Edgemont fell behind 1520 in the first quarter but came back to tie it up 27-all at halftime and then take a 43-38 lead into the fourth quarter, to only see that disappear and lose by one point down the stretch.

Urban and Hollenbeck each scored 16 points apiece followed Provorse with 12. Urban also had a monster night under the hoop with a total of 20 rebounds along with five assists and three steals.

This week, the Lady Moguls conclude their regular season with a home game versus Hot Springs on Tuesday followed by a road game at Crazy Horse on Friday.
