“DIVINE EXPECTATIONS”

Do we learn from history? Do we learn from history what pleases the Lord and what will follow if we do not please Him? The Bible is a book of history and the repeated rising and falling of Israel. Are these lessons learned? What should we expect in America? What expectations of our God should we fulfill?

Micah and Isaiah lived in the same frame of time (740690 BC). What they foretold was soon to come to pass. The nation of Israel was com-pared to a vine from which God expected good fruit, but it went wild.

What more could have been done to My vineyard that I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, did it bring forth wild grapes? 5 And now, please let Me tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned; And break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down. – Isaiah 5:4-5 What was a good start, became corrupted. The sins of the nation began to multiply. Mercy and justice were being put aside. Like Israel, we are a nation of laws but when the laws are set aside, what are we to expect? America, we had a good start with so many of our founders walking with and seeking the Lord. But if our country walks away from God we can anticipate His judgement.

He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? – Micah 6:8 What is right in a nation begins with each individual, YOU. Christian YOU are the light of the world, the salt, preservative, of the nation. Let every Christian walk away from corruption, set the right example, and acknowledge the Lord’s expectations. Use your influence, your vote, your voice, to preserve and shed light. Let us adopt the Lord’s standards.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. – Ephesians 5:8-11 In Christ’s Service,
