Edward ‘Ed’ Dean Holley, 77, of Hot Springs, S.D., passed away February 5, 2024, at home in Hot Springs.

Ed was born September 25, 1946, in Compton, Cali., to Raymond and Opal Holley. He joined the U.S. Army November 22, 1965, serving in Germany at Echterdingen Army Air Field, located near Stuttgard, Germany, as an Aircraft Dispatcher in Base Operations, 1966 to 1967.

Ed volunteered to go to Viet Nam 1967 to 1968 and was stationed at Camp Bear Cat, Ninth Infantry Division, located in Long Than Province as a helicopter crew chief, receiving the Army Commendation along with the Air Medial. He was honorably discharged in September 1968 as Specialist E-5 and attended Compton City College majoring in Police Science. He retired as Distribution Branch Manager in the dairy industry in 1999 and moved to Hot Springs in November of 2015.

Ed is survived by his wife, Juanita Holley; sons, Robert Holley, and Jason (Casie) Holley; daughter, Chrissy Holley and eight grandchildren.

Ed is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Holley; mother, Opal Holley and brother, Robert Holley.

Visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs, SD.

Funeral service were held Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs, S.D.

Committal service was Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, S.D.
