Hot Springs’ own Smokehouse takes home the gold at Prairie Wind Casino BBQ Cook Off

Body HOT SPRINGS – On Sept. 15, in the wee hours of the morning, the Smokehouse Sports Bar and Grill crew from Hot Springs – Chef Daniel Valdivia, Mercedes Uehling and Galen Ballasy – hit the road with high hopes of bringing home a win at the Prairie Wind Casino BBQ Cook Off.

Pine Hills Retirement Community honors its heroes on wall display

Body HOT SPRINGS – Earlier this month, Jolyn Harder, lead med aide with Pine Hills Retirement Community in Hot Springs, wanted to create something to honor the veterans entrusted in their care at the facility. So she created a comprehensive hero wall.

Termespheres, geometrical spherical art, comes to the City of Hot Springs

Body HOT SPRINGS – The Dick Termes art exhibit, Termespheres, is now on display at the Hot Springs Public Library and Chautauqua Artisans Market. Termespheres is a play on words with Termes being Dick’s last name and his chosen blank slate being polyethylene plastic spheres.

Suicide Awareness Month recognized by local groups in September

Body HOT SPRINGS – Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. These thoughts, which can often create actions, have a ripple effect throughout a family and community.

Body HOT SPRINGS – Master Sergeant Tyrell Whitcher, 2004 Hot Springs High School (HSHS) Alumnus, has been proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps since 2004, calling the prestigious Marine Barracks Washington DC 8th and I his current home.

‘Bumpout Brigade’ is helping keep downtown Hot Springs beautiful

Body HOT SPRINGS – While it’s the concrete that creates the foundation of Hot Springs’ new downtown roadway, it’s the beautifully colored vegetation and landscaping located at each street corner which engrains it altogether into the community.

Body HOT SPRINGS – Three dozen people attended a meeting last Wednesday evening in Hot Springs regarding a proposed uranium exploration project on state land near Craven Canyon north of Edgemont.
