‘MniKa’Ta’ group brings native traditions, hopes for permanent home to share culture

HOT SPRINGS – After almost a year of regular meetings, community outreach and consensus-based decision-making, ‘MiniKa’Ta’ Oyate’ — ‘Hot Springs Family’ in the Lakota language — has officially launched, electing its first Board, targeting its first grants, and planning a calendar of events for 2025 (inaugurated by the January PowWow at the Hot Springs school).
